Do you use a face toner in your skincare regime? Facial toners help cleanse, restore balance, and refresh the skin.
Why do we need Face Toner? Toners can help close pores and tighten cell gaps after cleansing, reducing the penetration of impurities and environmental contaminants into the skin. It can even protect and remove chlorine and minerals present in tap water.
How do we use face toner? It is best use it after we wash our face and gently dab it into our skin follow up by face massage.
How do we apply face toner? Homemade facial toner is mild, and the best way to apply is to pump the liquid to your palm and gently apply to your face following by circling around your face and gentle massage. It is preferable to don’t pump it to cotton pad to avoid unnecessarily lost and that way we produce less waste too.
witch hazel and essential oil toner
This homemade face toner is so easy to make and it only needs two ingredients. In my recipe I use witch hazel and essential oil. Some people use apple cider vinegar but I personally find it too strong for delicate facial tissue and the smell is overpowering too.
Why Witch Hazel? Witch hazel is a plant. Usually, its leaf, bark, and twigs are used to make medicine. You may see a product called witch hazel water (Hamamelis water, distilled witch hazel extract). It is a liquid that is distilled from dried leaves, bark, and partially dormant twigs of witch hazel. It is a powerful astringent with many benefits. The tannins inside the witch hazel actually helps to tighten the pore when apply to skin. Be sure to get an alcohol free version, alcohol is very drying to skin. My favourite brand of witch hazel is B.O.T cosmetic & wellness made in France, it is alcohol free and unscented. Well, here’s the fun part, since it is unscented, you can now scented it with your favourite essential oil according to your skin type.
