DIY Body butter
Its winter, it’s dry, you have been looking for a solution to pamper your skin. Well there you go, here’s my all time favourite DIY Body Butter, it is the creamiest and most nutritious body butter I have ever had, plus it helps to seal the moisture into the skin. It works the best when you apply generously all over your clean skin after a warm shower. The scent of essential oil is so soothing and I guarantee that you will feel relaxed and pampered. This butter will also smoothen your skin and you will be waking up the next day with the glorious skin ever.
Here you go, below is my simple 4-ingredient all natural DIY body butter recipe. So what are you waiting for?
Ingredients
- 15g organic virgin coconut oil*
- 30g unrefined organic solid shea butter *
- 15g avacado oil*
- 15 drops of your favourite topical/aromatic essential oil (I loveĀ Cedarwood,Ā Lavender, Copaiba andĀ FrankincenseĀ essential oils)Ā

(Note: another fragrance butter combination that I like is to add in 8 drops of frankincense plus 8 drops of stress away, the aroma is so calming and relaxing perfect for apply to skin before sleeping)

- double-boiler
- hand-held mixer
- glass jar
- electronic balance
Directions
- Warm a medium-sized double-boiler over medium heat, then add coconut oil, shea butter and avacado oil. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4ā5 minutes.
- Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30ā45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
- Stir in essential oils.
- Using an electric hand-held mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
- Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
- Massage into dry skin!
side note:
- It is important to cool down the oil mixture thoroughly on the step 2 until it is almost solidified but not harden.
- Drips in essential oil when the mixture is solidified. Do not mix it during the first step, as the heat will evaporate the scent of essential oil
- Make sure all your equipment and glass jar are completely sterilised.
- This butter is good for up to 6 months.
