There are so many essential oil options to choose from as a natural aide for health and wellness, the choices are simply just overwhelming. Here I share my top 5 favourite essential oils for diffuser blends of morning yoga routine that will enhance your experience and effects.
1. Lavender
Lavender Oil has a beautiful, versatile aroma. Its calming and sedative properties make Lavender Essential Oil a wonderful oil to help relax, fight stress and to promote calmness.
2. PEppermint
Peppermint oil has natural anti-inflammatory properties. Incorporating this oil during or after yoga can support muscle recovery after a session. I particularly love its uplifting scent that helps me to focus and concentrate at the beginning of the session.
3. Frankincense
Frankincense Essential Oil is used most often for spiritual, perfumery and incense /room fragrancing applications, but it is useful as an expectorant and sometimes is used in respiratory and cough formulations. I adore the aroma of Frankincense Essential Oil and often include it in room fragrancing, incense and spiritual blends all year round.
4. Rosemary
Invigorating. Refreshing. Stimulating. These are the first three words that come to mind when I think of Rosemary Essential Oil.
5. cedarwood
I find Cedarwood Essential Oil to be grounding and calming, and it is said to help combat negativity. Using it for the morning yoga session helps to start your day full of positivity and as well as to achieve a productive day.
How do you use it?
1. Aromatically
Before your yoga session, set an objective you tend to achieve in each session. Make your own blends according to the following recipe, on your diffuser and let it diffuse for around 15 minutes to get the best result. And at the end of the session, let it on for another 5 minutes for relaxation or energy boost (depending on the blends you choose).
2.Topically
For the same recipe you choose according to the purpose you tend to achieve during your practise, use the same blends and put into your roller bottle, and roll over on your neck, your crown and your wrists to get the best aromatherapy experience during your practise. All the recipes provided is to mix with 5ml of carrier oil for 2 ~ 2.5% of dilution. To understand more about proper dilution of essential oil , here’s the guide.
