Chilly mornings, shorter days, and fallen leaves, Autumn is around the corner. Here in France autumn starts officially from 21 of September on. With beautiful colors, rich soups, smooth hot chocolate, and twinkling candlelight. While cozy jumpers, spiced hot drinks are providing you with warmth and comfort, cooler temperatures are not particularly beneficial for your skin. This season is perfect to rejuvenate and prepare for winter. Having a balanced skincare routine is as important as having a balanced diet. While lighter creams could have done their job [ Check out my summer facial cream recipe: Soothing Aloe Facial Cream ] in the summer to hydrate sun-dried skin, they might not be enough when the weather cools down. Today we are going to formulate a nourishing and hydrating facial cream. Let’s dive in.
Ingredients
The rose elements of my formulation come from rose hydrosol and rosehip seed oil. Distilled from the flowers of the Rosa damascena plant, rose hydrosol has a green, rosy floral scent. It helps to bring a sense of well-being and peace to the senses. In aromatherapy, we use it as a room or linen spray to help assist with emotions when you’re feeling down or stagnant. Hydrosols are the aromatic remains following a plantās steam distillation process. They consist entirely of cellular botanical water, which includes unique water-soluble compounds that provide each hydrosol with distinct characteristics and benefits.
Rosehip seed oil is one of my favorite botanical oil. It contains high linoleic acid and is therefore perfect for anti-aging purposes.

The ultra-nourishing and hydrating humectants of my formulation come from urea and hyaluronic acid. They are specially formulated to help to draw moisture content deep into your skin which is important because they help our skin to stay moisturized and plump during autumn and winter.
